The High 5 for Friday, Nov. 17, is awarded to Belmont High senior soccer star Laina Ceddia (pictured, right).
SportsCenter 5's Mike Lynch has kept an eye on Ceddia throughout her four-year varsity Marauders career, which she just wrapped up in unprecedented fashion.
Ceddia led the Marauders to the Division 1 North sectional title, and finished her career with 101 goals, shattering the Belmont High record.
Ceddia said that while she is happy she was able to achieve her personal record-setting goals, she's most happy about gaining that success on top of the unprecedented team success for the Marauders this fall.
She's not tall in stature, standing 4-feet-10, but on the field she is an offensive juggernaut, with incredible quickness and foot skills -- either passing, dribbling or shooting. According to Lynchie, she can take over the game just like another No. 4 of Boston old -- Bobby Orr.
Now that her soccer season is over, Ceddia will focus her energies on preparing for a career at Boston College, starting next fall.
High 5, a weekly look at a Massachusetts high school athlete, is in its 16th year of providing Channel 5 viewers an indepth look at one of the Bay State's finest. Check here every week to see who Mike Lynch picks to win this week's award.
