The High 5 Athlete for Friday, Jan. 5, is awarded to Woburn High senior wrestler Michael Parziale (pictured, right).
SportsCenter 5's Mike Lynch called this Tanner wonder a star on and off the mat. In school, Parziale is an Honor Roll student.
On the mat, he has an equally impressive resume. Parziale is the defending two-time Massachusetts and New England champion at 135 pounds. Parziale is a committed athlete who plays football at 156 pounds, then works off 21 pounds in the short weeks between seasons to make weight to defend his title.
His coach, Mike Capone, says every coach should "have the priviledge to coach a Michael Parziale."
