The Leo L. Beranek Fellowship

Download The Application

WCVB-TV Boston, an ABC affiliate, will conduct an on-the-job training program in broadcast journalism for those who are minorities or disadvantaged by economic social conditions and encounter substantial difficulty in gaining access to broadcast careers as a result. The goal of this program is the development of writing, editing, producing and reporting skills. One person will be selected each year for a salaried, nine-month fellowship that begins in September.

Applicants must have at least a BA or BS degree and proven interest in broadcast journalism demonstrated through past internships and extracurricular activities associated with the communications and journalism field. A grade transcript and three letters of recommendation are required as well as a statement detailing why the applicant deserves the fellowship and the candidate's future career objectives.

If interested, download an application or contact Human Resources, WCVB-TV, 5 TV Place, Needham, MA 02494, or call (781) 433-4062.

The deadline is April 30, 2000.
