David Brown joined WCVB-TV in September 1995 as weather anchor of NewsCenter 5's daily EyeOpener newscast from 5 to 7 a.m. and the Midday newscast from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Brown had been the weekend meteorologist at WCVB-TV sister station WISN-TV in Milwaukee since 1993. Both stations are part of the Hearst Broadcasting television station group and are ABC affiliates.
Prior to joining WISN-TV, Brown served, for five years, as chief meteorologist at KTXL-TV in Sacramento, Calif. Before that, he was the chief meteorologist for a station in Chico, Calif. Brown began his forecasting career as a weekend weathercaster and reporter in Terre Haute, Ind.
Brown has been awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in recognition of his professionalism in weather forecasting and reporting. He has extensive expertise in designing weather graphics and maps and joined WeatherCenter 5 with a true love of weather.
Brown earned his bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Indiana University.
